Amrita Datta is the author of Stories of the Indian Immigrant Communities in Germany: Why Move? (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023). A Sociologist, Amrita's research focuses primarily on skilled migration, transnational mobility, (im)mobility and "new" migration. Currently, she is based at the Department of Sociology, University of Bielefeld. Amrita is also a Visiting Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Social Anthropology, Halle and an Associate Member at the Global South Studies Centre (GSSC), Cologne.
