Franka Tetteroo is currently pursuing a Master of Data Science for Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin. She is passionate about increasing the accessibility of data science through public discourse as well as utilising data science tools to further the energy transition.

As a Liberal Arts and Sciences student, Franka prefers an interdisciplinary perspective on modern-day challenges. She graduated cum laude from Leiden University College with a major in Governance, Economics, and Development and a minor in Classical Languages from Trinity College Dublin. Franka was also involved in various student clubs and initiatives, from alumni events to film clubs.

Before Hertie, Franka worked at trade organisation Energie-Nederland, which represents almost 90% of the Dutch market for producers, suppliers and traders of electricity, gas and heat. Her time at Energie-Nederland revealed the crucial need for sound data analysis in conjunction with clear communication towards policy makers on how to interpret the results, inspiring her to pursue a data science master at Hertie.

In her free time, Franka enjoys reading, classical music, visiting museums, running and keeping up with political, historical and statistics podcasts.
