Robert Lange | Former Researcher
University of Amsterdam
Robert Lange has researched EU frameworks for disaster preparedness, notably in collaboration with Dr. Lucy Hall on a critical analysis of the 2021 floods across North-Western Europe. Their interdisciplinary research, which combined narrative interviews with EU legal and policy analysis, revealed significant gaps between institutional disaster response mechanisms and local implementation. The findings underscore the urgent need for enhanced coordination and improved governance between regional, national, and European levels. Mr. Lange holds an LLM in European Law (cum laude) from Leiden University and a BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) from the University of Amsterdam. Currently, he serves as Policy Advisor for the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF) and Becker Büttner Held in Brussels.
