Sofie Poggendorf is a committed dual-degree student in international affairs, enrolled at both the Hertie School in Berlin and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy in Toronto. With a strong focus on international security, Sofie brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her work, grounded in her bachelor’s degree in International Geography from the University of Hamburg. During her undergraduate studies, she broadened her experience with a semester abroad at Temple University in Philadelphia and contributed to a research project at Mount Royal University in Calgary. This project focused on assessing the impacts of climate change on Indigenous communities in Canada, underscoring her interest in global climate issues.
Beyond academics, Sofie is an avid triathlete, dedicating much of her free time to running, cycling, and swimming. Post-graduation, she aspires to work within Germany's foreign ministry, with organizations addressing climate change, or in roles strengthening German-Canadian relations. Sofie’s academic and extracurricular pursuits highlight her commitment to bridging international policy and climate issues on a global scale.
